Mission Award Fund: Providence Makes a Commitment to Frontline Staff
In response to the challenge of the Coronavirus, the Board of Providence Life Services created a special fund to recognize the outstanding efforts of our staff. Working through this Coronavirus crisis reminds all of us how important our staff is: for the residents, for their families, and for the community. While challenging days are still ahead, we recognize that our existence was established for such a time as this. The purpose of our non-profit, Christian mission has never before been more evident.
The Mission Award Fund was distributed to all employees-of-record on the first payroll in August 2020. Each full-time worker received at least $1,000. For everyone who works less than full-time, the award was equal to the percentage of full-time equivalency. While we put up banners at our buildings and passed out T-shirts to all employees, all with the message that they are the superheroes of this pandemic, we hope everyone realizes that this award for fulfilling our mission was simply a tangible sign of our appreciation for all they are doing to work through this crisis.
Our Board and leadership team committed over $150,000 towards the fund, and additional donations were made to help us raise a total of $750,000. Thanks for your faithful and generous partnership with us, and for helping us honor our staff who are critical to continuing our mission and serving our residents.
