Fairways resident enjoys the scenic environment of her townhouse at Village Woods
Marge stands out on her balcony, enjoying the lovely view of the golf course and surrounding scene.
Marge Cooper’s four children had been asking her to consider moving for a while.
“It was a big decision,” Marge says, shaking her head. “I was 25 when I bought my house, and I’d lived in it for 51 years. I’d raised my children in it. When you’ve lived in a house for so many years, it isn’t easy to just leave.”
But Marge knew that her children were right. “I wasn’t enjoying my life there the way I used to. I like to walk,” she says, “but it really wasn’t safe for me to walk alone in the neighborhood anymore. I knew it was time.”
She wasn’t sure what her options were or where to look. She knew she didn’t want to live in an apartment, but, “At my age, do I really want to buy another house?” she thought.
Then Marge visited the townhouses at the Fairways at Village Woods. “I just fell in love with the place,” she says. “I didn’t have to look anywhere else.”
“Every day when I wake up, I’m just so glad I’m here,” Marge says of the scenic environment of her home at the Fairways at Village Woods.
Even though she knows she’s home, Marge says she feels like she’s on vacation. “I can go on walks again, and everyone is so friendly, and everything is so beautiful. Then I come back and look out the window at the beautiful golf course. And I never have to mow a lawn again!” she says, laughing.
She also has an active social life, with dinner at Aurelio’s with her neighbors every Friday night, and a variety of other activities going on all the time. “My daughter said, ‘Mom, you’re busier than ever!’ And she’s right. I’m always doing something here!”
And whenever Marge gets a chance, she’s telling everyone she knows how happy she is. She knows she made the right choice.
“I’m just so grateful,” she says. “Every day when I wake up, I’m just so glad I’m here.”
