Woman enjoys retirement living community at Village Woods
“The minute I got out here, I loved it,” she says.
After six years of living at Village Woods, she now loves so much more about the retirement community, especially the many activities, like the mystery scenic trips, movies, shopping, and lunches. “I go to as many activities as I can sign up for,” she says.
Elaine also appreciates the relationships she has at Village Woods. “I’ve made some really good friendships here,” she says. “I can’t tell you enough about just how wonderful everyone is. They just welcome you. Everyone welcomes you.”

Elaine takes advantage of the salon, where she gets her hair done and gets pedicures, and she appreciates the caring, friendly staff that know her by name. She volunteers with another friend to set up for activities like bingo and bunco, and helps out with other activities, staying as active as she wants to be. And her private room has a shelf full of books waiting to be read, if she ever finds the time.
But for Elaine, the grounds still take her breath away. Elaine stands and pulls back her curtains to show the scenery. “Just look at my view,” she says. “I’m really very happy here. Who wouldn’t be?
